3rd SARCOS Training School

Advanced solutions for the external repair of concrete

Thessaloniki (Greece), 20th - 22nd January 2020

On behalf of the MC of the SARCOS (CA 15202) COST Action, we are pleased to announce the Training School entitled "Advanced solutions for the external repair of concrete". It will take place in Thessaloniki (Greece), from 20th to 22nd of January 2020, and will be organized by Prof. Maria Stefanidou and her group in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The need to repair concrete structure is intense as basic infrastructure is rather old (more than 50 years) and also most of the urban structures were built in 60s and 70s. The solutions and techniques used in repair works are closely related to the available technology. This training school intents to give to PhD students that study concrete repair, knowledge on new materials and techniques used for external repair of concrete. Engineers of practice as well as academics and scientists from different disciplines will present solutions on pathology of concrete in existing structures. The trainees will have the experience to apply in field and in laboratory materials and techniques, as a major part of the program will be practical sessions. The aim is to give students advanced knowledge on new technologies for concrete repair.
